Título : Corporate Performance : A Ratio-Based Approach to Country and Industry Analyses Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Koralun-Bereznicka, Julia ; SpringerLink (Online service) Editorial: Heidelberg : Springer International Publishing Fecha de publicación: 2013 Otro editor: Imprint: Springer Colección: Contributions to Management Science, ISSN 1431-1941 Número de páginas: XX, 194 p Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-3-319-00345-0 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Finance Organization Planning Macroeconomics Finance, general Macroeconomics/Monetary Economics//Financial Economics Clasificación: 658 Empresas. Organización de empresas Resumen: This book presents the comparative evaluation of international and industrial factors affecting the financial condition of enterprises. In the theoretical part, the results of previous research on the occurrence of the country and industry effect in the financial health of companies are reviewed. The aim of the empirical study is to determine such factors – national or industrial ones – that have a greater impact on the corporate performance in the selected European Union countries. Corporate performance is measured and described with the use of a large set of fundamental ratios. Corporate performance is therefore treated as a more complex matter influenced by such aspects as profitability, liquidity, working capital and solvency. The book especially analyses the importance of non-public companies of all sizes, which is also rare as current research focuses mainly on public companies due to the data constraints. Nota de contenido: Corporate performance interpretation and measuring problems -- Country and industry factors as determinants of corporate performance -- Analysis of the corporate performance diversity in the selected European Union countries -- Cross-industry and cross-country comparative cluster analysis -- Factors affecting corporate performance in countries and industries En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-3-319-00345-0 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=36466 Corporate Performance : A Ratio-Based Approach to Country and Industry Analyses [documento electrónico] / Koralun-Bereznicka, Julia ; SpringerLink (Online service) . - Heidelberg : Springer International Publishing : Imprint: Springer, 2013 . - XX, 194 p : online resource. - (Contributions to Management Science, ISSN 1431-1941) .

Título : Dimension Theory of Hyperbolic Flows Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Luis Barreira ; SpringerLink (Online service) Editorial: Heidelberg : Springer International Publishing Fecha de publicación: 2013 Otro editor: Imprint: Springer Colección: Springer Monographs in Mathematics, ISSN 1439-7382 Número de páginas: X, 158 p Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-3-319-00548-5 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Mathematics Mathematical analysis Analysis (Mathematics) Dynamics Ergodic theory Dynamical Systems and Theory Clasificación: 51 Matemáticas Resumen: The dimension theory of dynamical systems has progressively developed, especially over the last two decades, into an independent and extremely active field of research. Its main aim is to study the complexity of sets and measures that are invariant under the dynamics. In particular, it is essential to characterizing chaotic strange attractors. To date, some parts of the theory have either only been outlined, because they can be reduced to the case of maps, or are too technical for a wider audience. In this respect, the present monograph is intended to provide a comprehensive guide. Moreover, the text is self-contained and with the exception of some basic results in Chapters 3 and 4, all the results in the book include detailed proofs. The book is intended for researchers and graduate students specializing in dynamical systems who wish to have a sufficiently comprehensive view of the theory together with a working knowledge of its main techniques. The discussion of some open problems is also included in the hope that it may lead to further developments. Ideally, readers should have some familiarity with the basic notions and results of ergodic theory and hyperbolic dynamics at the level of an introductory course in the area, though the initial chapters also review all the necessary material Nota de contenido: Introduction -- Suspension Flows -- Hyperbolic Flows -- Pressure and Dimension -- Dimension of Hyperbolic Sets -- Pointwise Dimension and Applications -- Suspensions over Symbolic Dynamics -- Multifractal Analysis of Hyperbolic Flows -- Entropy Spectra -- Multidimensional Spectra -- Dimension Spectra -- References -- Index En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-3-319-00548-5 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=32461 Dimension Theory of Hyperbolic Flows [documento electrónico] / Luis Barreira ; SpringerLink (Online service) . - Heidelberg : Springer International Publishing : Imprint: Springer, 2013 . - X, 158 p : online resource. - (Springer Monographs in Mathematics, ISSN 1439-7382) .

The purpose of the Workshop on Discrete Geometry, the Conference on Discrete Geometry and Optimization, and the Workshop on Optimization, held in September 2011 at the Fields Institute, Toronto, was to further stimulate the interaction between geometers and optimizers. This volume reflects the interplay between these areas. The inspiring Fejes Tóth Lecture Series, delivered by Thomas Hales of the University of Pittsburgh, exemplified this approach. While these fields have recently witnessed a lot of activity and successes, many questions remain open. For example, Fields medalist Stephen Smale stated that the question of the existence of a strongly polynomial time algorithm for linear optimization is one of the most important unsolved problems at the beginning of the 21st century. The broad range of topics covered in this volume demonstrates the many recent and fruitful connections between different approaches, and features novel results and state-of-the-art surveys as well as open problems Nota de contenido: Preface -- Discrete Geometry in Minkowski Spaces (Alonso, Martini, and Spirova) -- Engineering Branch-and-Cut Algorithms for the Equicut Program (Anjos, Liers, Pardella, and Schmutzer) -- An Approach to the Dodecahedral Conjecture Based on Bounds for Spherical Codes (Anstreicher) -- On Minimal Tilings with Convex Cells Each Containing a Unit Ball (Bezdek) -- On Volumes of Permutation Polytopes (Burggraf, De Loera, and Omar) -- Monotone Paths in Planar Convex Subdivisions and Polytopes (Dumitrescu, Rote, and Toth).- Complexity of the Positive Semidefinite Matrix Completion Problem with a Rank Constraint (Eisenberg-Nagy, Laurent, and Varvitsiotis) -- The Strong Dodecahedral Conjecture and Fejes Toth's Conjecture on Sphere Packings with Kissing Number Twelve (Hales) -- Solving Nuclear Norm Regularized and Semidefinite Matrix Least Squares Problems with Linear Equality Constraints (Jiang, Sun, and Toh) -- Techniques for Submodular Maximization (Lee) -- A Further Generalization of the Colourful Caratheodory theorem (Meunier, Deza) -- Expected Crossing Numbers (Mohar, Stephen) -- EL-Labelings and Canonical Spanning Trees for Subword Complexes (Pilaud, Stump) -- Bandwidth, Vertex Separators, and Eigenvalue Optimization (Rendl, Lisser, and Piacentini) -- Exploiting Symmetries in Polyhedral Computations (Schurmann) -- Conditions for Correct Sensor Network Localization Using SDP Relaxation (Shamsi, Taheri, Zhu, and Ye) -- A Primal-Dual Smooth Perceptron-von Neumann Algorithm (Soheili, Pena) -- Open Problems (Bezdek, Deza, and Ye). Organización de empresas Resumen: The economies of the European countries are still in recession, the development process is at a standstill, companies are facing financial difficulties, and the EU’s monetary policy is tight and focused on lowering inflation. The fiscal problems and high debt levels of the northern European countries are of great importance, and they are the consequences of both the European economy’s structural characteristics and the EU’s policies. The economic area of Eastern Europe, the Balkans and the Black Sea countries is also vital, due to its special economic characteristics. The effects of the economic crisis on this particular area are catalytic, while the prospects for recovery are doubtful. The present book deals with the key aspects of the economic crisis in Europe, especially focusing on southeast Europe and the Balkans. The consequences of the crisis in these countries are analyzed and suggestions for how to address the crisis are outlined Nota de contenido: Part I: Economic Crisis in Europe -- Part II: European Policies and Integration -- Part III: European and Regional Development in South-Eastern Europe En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-3-319-00494-5 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=35961 Economic Crisis in Europe and the Balkans : Problems and Prospects [documento electrónico] / SpringerLink (Online service) ; Karasavvoglou, Anastasios ; Polychronidou, Persefoni . - Heidelberg : Springer International Publishing : Imprint: Springer, 2014 . - XII, 240 p : online resource. - (Contributions to Economics, ISSN 1431-1933) .
