The findings of this study are unique in drawing from a unified framework of Indian corporate governance structure and corporate engagement in CSR. The book's scope is both academic and practical; the research methodology developed and utilized is useful for researchers, while the implications and the selection of variables provide useful information for practitioners and stakeholders. Finally, although it focuses on large Indian companies, the findings can also be applied to research on other emerging economies Nota de contenido: Corporate governance and corporate social responsibility - Introduction -- Corporate social responsibility around the world - Historical evolution, progress and role of corporate governance -- Corporate social responsibility and corporate Governance in India: Evolution, progress and current status of large companies -- Impact of corporate governance on corporate social responsibility in India - Empirical analysis -- Impact of corporate governance on corporate social responsibility: An empirical exploration using structural equation technique En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-981-10-0925-9 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=41242 Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility of Indian Companies [documento electrónico] / Saumitra N. Título : Corporate Responsibility : Social Action, Institutions and Governance Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Ronny Manos ; SpringerLink (Online service) ; Israel Drori Editorial: London : Palgrave Macmillan UK Fecha de publicación: 2016 Otro editor: Imprint: Palgrave Macmillan Número de páginas: XIII, 264 p Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-1-137-45072-2 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Business Corporate governance enterprises Finance Social responsibility of business Economics Management science and Governance Finance, general Responsibility Economics, Clasificación: 658.17 Gastos ajenos a los de explotación, p. ej. para fomento de actividades culturales, sociales o políticas. Responsabilidad social corporativa Resumen: The decision to engage in corporate social action (CSA), and the debates regarding its costs, benefits and implications to corporate performance represent a demanding issue for scholars and managers. Research is inconclusive regarding the causal relations between CSA, corporate social performance (CSP) and corporate financial performance (CFP), despite numerous empirical and theoretical studies devoted to the issue. This book presents an in-depth study of corporate social action and the factors influencing a decision to engage in it. Going beyond the causal relationship between CSA and firm performance, the book stresses the link between CSA and a firm's core managerial policies and practices, reflecting the complexity and varied facets of CSA and the numerous internal and external factors that influence its outcomes. The book draws on the experiences of various industrial sectors to reveal the importance of a range of issues such as top management pay dispersion and ownership structure, which may influence the firm's decision to engage in CSA. It also explores some of the external influences on firms, such as institutional norms, the geopolitical environment and the industrial sector. The first part of the book provides an overview of the thematic issues of CSA and performance. The second part presents a series of empirical studies that examine factors and determinants of CSA. The third part presents case studies to illustrate the processes and outcomes of CSA policy and strategy in environmentally hazardous industries. Organización de empresas Resumen: This volume explores the value of business integrity and ethics as a "best practice" model in business strategy. The authors define business integrity, explore areas in which integrity is often absent or discredited, and provide a framework and tools to help build better business ethics and corporate social responsibility. The volume aims to reveal that beyond the immediate economic effect, corruption can ruin entire countries by destabilizing key economic and political players, warping their vision for state development. Against the backdrop of global financial and ethical crises, the authors argue that integrity in business is a key component for long-term success. Integrity includes the ability to be consistent with one's moral values and principles and places society's wishes at the center of business decision-making. The cornerstone upon which a culture of integrity is built within a certain business is the ethics code. It explicitly states the values and principles to which a company adheres. The continuous promotion, support and communication of the ethics code stipulations provide the basis upon which integrity in business is built. Featuring case studies from countries such as Sweden, Great Britain and France and companies such Starbucks, Nike, PSEG, and Anglo-American PLC, this volume provides a comprehensive study of business integrity and social responsibility that will be of interest to students, scholars, professionals and policy-makers from around the world Nota de contenido: Chapter 1 Introduction -- Chapter 2 Defining Integrity -- Chapter 3 Activities and Risk Areas Discrediting Integrity -- Chapter 4 Domains Where Business Integrity Matters -- Chapter 5 The European Normative Framework for Business Ethics -- Chapter 6 Developing Codes of Practice for Business Integrity -- Chapter 7 Practiced Codes of Integrity in Business: Case Studies.-Chapter 8 Corporate Social Responsibility from Concept to Business Strategy -- Chapter 9 Models of Good Practice -- Conclusions and Recommendations En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-3-319-33843-9 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=41639 Integrity in the Business Panorama : Models of European Best-Practices [documento electrónico] / Sebastian Vaduva ; Victor T. Título : Moral Leadership in Business : Towards a Business Culture of Integrity Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Sebastian Vaduva ; Victor T. Alistar ; SpringerLink (Online service) ; Andrew R. Thomas ; Calin D. Lupitu ; Daniel S. Neagoie Editorial: Cham : Springer International Publishing Fecha de publicación: 2016 Otro editor: Imprint: Springer Colección: SpringerBriefs in Business, ISSN 2191-5482 Número de páginas: VIII, 94 p. 22 illus. in color Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-3-319-42881-9 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Business Leadership Globalization Markets Social responsibility of business and Management Corporate Responsibility Strategy/Leadership Emerging Markets/Globalization Clasificación: 658:174 Ética empresarial Resumen: This brief explores the concept of moral leadership in organizations. Specifically, it examines ways in which companies can strengthen their reputation in the market and increase performance by taking leading positions in the realm of business ethics. It presents research from top scholars of Eastern Europe contemplating the future of our global information and knowledge society. How will the economic power nexuses of the world shift in the foreseeable future? Are we becoming so interconnected and at the same time divided that social capital (together with business integrity and customer feedback) may matter more than money and resources? How will education and creativity bridge the shrinking gap between producers and consumers? Such questions and many more are tackled by this brief. In the current global economy, we have never before been more tightly-knit and never before has it been easier to distribute goods as well as ideologies. However, in the global marketplace we are only as good as our word, or our reputation, proves to be. Integrity studies by Transparency International show a correlation between corruption and national threat and lists corruption among the most harmful factors to impact local and regional economies. Therefore, successful businesses cannot afford to simply remain materially successful; they have to consider their community impact and become moral leaders before they can be world leaders in their respective field. Featuring innovative tools, recommendations, case studies and checklists, this brief will be of interest to students, academics, scholars, practitioners and policymakers alike in the fields of leadership, corporate governance, business ethics and corporate social responsibility Nota de contenido: Chapter 1 Moral Leadership -- Chapter 2 From Conformism to a Culture of Integrity -- Chapter 3 Corporate Transparency -- Chapter 4 Stakeholders' Management -- Chapter 5 Risk Management -- Chapter 6 Instead of Conclusion En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-3-319-42881-9 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=41049 Moral Leadership in Business : Towards a Business Culture of Integrity [documento electrónico] / Sebastian Vaduva ; Victor T.
