Título : Formalizing the Shadow Economy in Serbia : Policy Measures and Growth Effects Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: SpringerLink (Online service) ; Gorana Krstic ; Friedrich Schneider Editorial: Cham : Springer International Publishing Fecha de publicación: 2015 Otro editor: Imprint: Springer Colección: Contributions to Economics, ISSN 1431-1933 Número de páginas: IX, 179 p. 71 illus Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-3-319-13437-6 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Econometrics Macroeconomics Public finance Economic policy Development economics growth Economics Policy Growth Macroeconomics/Monetary Economics//Financial Clasificación: 658 Empresas. Organización de empresas Resumen: The main objective of this book is to develop a strategy and policy measures to enhance the formalization of the shadow economy in order to improve the competitiveness of the economy and contribute to economic growth; it explores these issues with special reference to Serbia. The size and development of the shadow economy in Serbia and other Central and Eastern European countries are estimated using two different methods (the MIMIC method and household-tax-compliance method). Micro-estimates are based on a special survey of business entities in Serbia, which for the first time allows us to explore the shadow economy from the perspective of enterprises and entrepreneurs. The authors identify the types of shadow economy at work in business entities, the determinants of shadow economy participation, and the impact of competition from the informal sector on businesses. Readers will learn both about the potential fiscal effects of reducing the shadow economy to the levels observed in more developed countries and the effects that formalization of the shadow economy can have on economic growth Nota de contenido: Introduction -- Shadow Economy: Challenges to Economic and Social Policy -- Concept of the Survey of Enterprises and Entrepreneurs Operating Informally -- Causes of the Shadow Economy -- What Is the Extent of the Shadow Economy in Serbia? -- Shadow Economy in the Enterprise and Entrepreneur Sector -- Effects of Formalization of Shadow Economy -- Analysis of the Administrative Capacity of Oversight Bodies -- Main Findings and Recommendations for Formalising the Shadow Economy En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-3-319-13437-6 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=35550 Formalizing the Shadow Economy in Serbia : Policy Measures and Growth Effects [documento electrónico] / SpringerLink (Online service) ; Gorana Krstic ; Friedrich Schneider . - Cham : Springer International Publishing : Imprint: Springer, 2015 . - IX, 179 p. 71 illus : online resource. - (Contributions to Economics, ISSN 1431-1933) .

Título : The Global Impact of Unconventional Shale Gas Development : Economics, Policy, and Interdependence Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Yongsheng Wang ; SpringerLink (Online service) ; William E. Hefley Editorial: Cham : Springer International Publishing Fecha de publicación: 2016 Otro editor: Imprint: Springer Colección: Natural Resource Management and Policy num. 39 Número de páginas: V, 249 p. 32 illus Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-3-319-31680-2 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Energy policy and state Economic Environmental economics Economics Policy Policy, Management Clasificación: 330 Economía en general Resumen: This book discusses the economic, political, and environmental issues surrounding the international exploration and exploitation of conventional and unconventional natural gas. Shale gas development in recent years has changed the energy discussion in the US as existing reserves of natural gas coupled with horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing make exploitation of these reserves economically feasible; the discussion is quickly becoming international in scope. The potential expansion of natural gas development impacts many regions of the globe and spans multiple perspectives. In a volatile international climate, one of intense geopolitical conflict between Russia and the West, economic slowdowns in Europe and China, military conflicts in the Middle East and northern Africa, and widening income disparity in the U.S., a relatively inexpensive and plentiful energy source like shale gas could play a key role in mitigating such conflicts. In an energy interdependent global community, however, multiple factors such as oil prices, differing rates of exploration, environmental concerns, strategic initiatives, institutional changes, legal and regulatory issues, and actions of the nations involved all have the potential to influence future outcomes. This book discusses each of these in turn, detailing the issues most prevalent in each geographical area. The first volume to provide a comprehensive global view of the impacts of shale gas development, this book fills a gap in the current research literature, providing vital information for the scholarly community and the public alike. This book will be of interest to researchers and students of economics, energy policy, public administration, and international relations as well as policy makers and residents of the regions that are experiencing shale gas development Nota de contenido: 1. Introduction -- 2. International Security Perspectives of Unconventional Shale Development -- 3. Shale Development across the English Channel (Policy difference between U.K. and France) -- 4. Shale and Eastern Europe (Bulgaria, Romania, and Ukraine) -- 5. Shale and European Union Energy Policy -- 6. Shale and China -- 7. Shale and Japan -- 8. Winners and Losers from the Shale Gas Revolution in Central and South Asia -- 9. Shale and South Africa -- 10. Shale and International Water Implication -- 11. Shale and Mexico and Latin America -- 12. Conclusion.
