Título : Redemptive Leadership : Offering Second Chances as a Value-Added Management Practice Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Bucci, Joseph J ; SpringerLink (Online service) Editorial: Cham : Springer International Publishing Fecha de publicación: 2016 Otro editor: Imprint: Palgrave Macmillan Número de páginas: XXVI, 191 p Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-3-319-31343-6 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Business Religion and sociology Leadership Employees Coaching of Management Strategy/Leadership Society Clasificación: 316.46 Liderazgo Resumen: This book highlights research on and examples of redemptive managerial behaviors used in the successful reinstatement and improved performance of employees previously terminated for cause. Organizational pressure to hire and retain near-perfect employees is higher than ever, but by offering second chance opportunities and utilizing the resources outlined in this book managers can reclaim, restore, and redirect current employees with great potential. Based on qualitative research and contemporary stories of successful reinstatement, the author highlights the benefits of adopting a redemptive approach and offering employees second chances. The value proposition of retaining an already trained but underperforming employee often results in avoidance of arbitration costs, reduced turnover, higher productivity, and greater employee loyalty. Little research has been conducted assessing the impact of the manager's leadership behavior on post-reinstatement employees, and this book fills that gap by providing seminal reading for faith-oriented students, scholars, managers, and human resources professionals. Nota de contenido: 1. Do Most Americans Believe in Redemption? -- 2. Why Study Redemption in Management? -- 3. What Does the Management Literature Say About Redemption? -- 4. Eyes Wide Open -- 5. Smoothing Out the Road Ahead -- 6. The Condition of My Conditions -- 7. Moved with Compassion; Acting with Fairness -- 8. Making a List; Checking it Twice (as much) -- 9. Déjà vu All Over Again -- 10. So how does someone become a Redemptive Manager? -- 11. Is Redemptive Management a Viable Strategy for an Organization? -- 12. A Case Study of Redemptive Managerial Behaviors @ Work -- 13. The Redemptive Effort - Certain Restrictions Apply -- 14. Título : Absolute Stability of Nonlinear Control Systems Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Liao, Xiaoxin ; SpringerLink (Online service) ; Yu, Pei Editorial: Dordrecht : Springer Netherlands Fecha de publicación: 2008 Colección: Mathematical Modelling: Theory and Applications, ISSN 1386-2960 num. 25 Número de páginas: XII, 384 p Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-1-4020-8482-9 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Mathematics Differential equations Applied mathematics Engineering System theory Vibration Dynamical systems Dynamics Ordinary Equations Systems Theory, Control Vibration, Systems, Applications of Clasificación: 51 Matemáticas Resumen: Following the recent developments in the field of absolute stability, Professor Xiaoxin Liao, in conjunction with Professor Pei Yu, has created a second edition of his seminal work on the subject. Liao begins with an introduction to the Lurie problem and the Lurie control system, before moving on to the simple algebraic sufficient conditions for the absolute stability of autonomous and non-autonomous ODE systems, as well as several special classes of Lurie-type systems. The focus of the book then shifts toward the new results and research that have appeared in the decade since the first edition was published. This includes nonlinear control systems with multiple controls, interval control systems, time-delay and neutral Lurie control systems, systems described by functional differential equations, the absolute stability for neural networks, as well as applications to chaos control and chaos synchronization. This book is aimed at undergraduates and lecturers in the areas of applied mathematics, nonlinear control systems and chaos control and synchronisation, but may also be useful as a reference work for researchers and engineers. The book is self-contained, though a basic knowledge of calculus, linear system and matrix theory, and ordinary differential equations is required to gain a complete understanding of the workings and methodologies discussed within Nota de contenido: Principal Theorems on Global Stability -- Sufficient Conditions of Absolute Stability: Classical Methods -- Necessary and Sufficient Conditions for Absolute Stability -- Special Lurie-Type Control Systems -- Nonautonomous Systems -- Systems with Multiple Nonlinear Feedback Controls -- Robust Absolute Stability of Interval Control Systems -- Discrete Control Systems -- Time-Delayed and Neutral Lurie Control Systems -- Control Systems Described by Functional Differential Equations -- Absolute Stability of Hopfield Neural Network -- Application to Chaos Control and Chaos Synchronization En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-1-4020-8482-9 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=34293 Absolute Stability of Nonlinear Control Systems [documento electrónico] / Liao, Xiaoxin ; SpringerLink (Online service) ; Yu, Pei . - Dordrecht : Springer Netherlands, 2008 . - XII, 384 p : online resource. - (Mathematical Modelling: Theory and Applications, ISSN 1386-2960; 25) .

Título : Activating the Tools of Social Media for Innovative Collaboration in the Enterprise Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Majchrzak, Ann ; SpringerLink (Online service) ; Fife, Elizabeth ; Min, Qingfei ; Pereira, Francis Editorial: Cham : Springer International Publishing Fecha de publicación: 2014 Otro editor: Imprint: Springer Colección: SpringerBriefs in Digital Spaces, ISSN 2193-5890 Número de páginas: VIII, 26 p. 6 illus Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-3-319-03230-6 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Business Management Industrial management Operations research Decision making Information technology Data processing User interfaces (Computer systems) information systems Computer science and IT in Innovation/Technology Interfaces Human Interaction of Computing Systems Operation Research/Decision Theory Clasificación: 658 Empresas. Organización de empresas Resumen: The use of social media tools in the enterprise is expanding rapidly and yet, firms are still unclear about the overall value of this activity and how best to facilitate useful outcomes. The focus of this book is, from a managerial standpoint, the control of information, the extent to which such tools can enhance employee satisfaction and how best to use social media tools to attain specific outcomes including innovative collaboration. As companies turn to IT solutions as substitutes for face-to-face engagements, an understanding of the social dynamics – how employees can best communicate, find and use information and generate motivation through computer-mediated activities is fundamental. Lingering questions relate to the strategic use of these tools; many large companies are using Facebook-like applications due to employee demand, but are not studying outcomes comprehensively or managing processes to create desired outcomes. This book fills this knowledge gap through examining the process and results of a controlled study in two companies, one in the US and the other in China. In each company “wiki challenges” were introduced to employees who were provided guidelines to produce goal-oriented outcomes. The book examine the results in each case and suggest guidelines for firms to achieve “wiki-readiness” to support innovation and co-creation Nota de contenido: Introduction -- Field Research Methods -- Findings -- Tools for Use of Social Media for Collaborative Innovation -- Contributions -- References En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-3-319-03230-6 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=36011 Activating the Tools of Social Media for Innovative Collaboration in the Enterprise [documento electrónico] / Majchrzak, Ann ; SpringerLink (Online service) ; Fife, Elizabeth ; Min, Qingfei ; Pereira, Francis . - Cham : Springer International Publishing : Imprint: Springer, 2014 . - VIII, 26 p. 6 illus : online resource. - (SpringerBriefs in Digital Spaces, ISSN 2193-5890) .
