Título : Financial Crime in China : Developments, Sanctions, and the Systemic Spread of Corruption Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Hongming Cheng ; SpringerLink (Online service) Editorial: New York : Palgrave Macmillan US Fecha de publicación: 2016 Otro editor: Imprint: Palgrave Macmillan Número de páginas: XIV, 194 p Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-1-137-57106-9 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Social sciences Finance Banks and banking Accounting International economics Asia Economic conditions Criminology Sciences & Criminal Justice Finance, general Banking Financial Asian Economics Clasificación: 330 Economía en general Resumen: Given China's rapid development, many observers assert that world economic growth and key economic indicators are now depending on the country alone, including the prospects of the dollar, the Euro, oil prices, industrial commodities, global equity markets and bond prices. On the other hand, China faces a number of major social and economic challenges which could undermine future growth, such as prevalent corruption, financial crime, and the relative lack of the rule of law. Financial Crime in China builds upon original research into the topic and offers a never-before-seen look at the systemic spread of state-controlled corruption in the form of bank fraud, securities fraud, insider trading, and Ponzi schemes. Cheng presents an authentic picture of financial crime in China by identifying the latest manifestations, analyzing empirical data and case studies, and drawing conclusions about the origin, characteristics, dynamics, and developmental features of financial criminality in the context of political economy. Título : Financial Crisis and Bank Management in Japan (1997 to 2016) : Building a Stable Banking System Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Mitsuhiko Nakano ; SpringerLink (Online service) Editorial: London : Palgrave Macmillan UK Fecha de publicación: 2016 Otro editor: Imprint: Palgrave Macmillan Colección: Palgrave Macmillan Studies in Banking and Financial Institutions Número de páginas: XXII, 184 p. 28 illus., 3 illus. in color Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-1-137-54118-5 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Finance Banks and banking Capital market Finance--History Asia Economic conditions Banking Markets Financial History Asian Economics Clasificación: 330 Economía en general Resumen: This book explores the challenges faced by the Japanese economy and the Japanese banking industry following the financial crisis that emerged around the turn of the last millennium. The author explores how the Japanese financial crisis of the late 1990s engendered huge restructuring efforts in the banking industry, which eventually led to even more sweeping changes of the economic system and long-term deflation in the 2000s. The discussion begins with an overview of the unconventional monetary policy launched by the Bank of Japan at this time, while banking administrative policies maintained their strict code of governance. The author describes how, just as recovery seemed possible, the twin disasters of the Lehman shock and the Great East Japan Earthquake buffeted the recovering economy, and pushed Japan again into deflation. The book also looks to the very recent past, with the sudden advent of Abenomics in 2013, with its three-pronged approach, which was intended to break the deflationary mindset. Finally, the author projects what the future of the banking industry in Japan might encompass, as looming demographic changes gradually threaten both the economy and the banking industry Nota de contenido: Chapter 1) Financial Crisis and Banking Crisis in Japan / 1997-2003 -- Chapter 2) Change in banking supervision policy and their effects on bank behaviour / 2002-2005 -- Chapter 3) The Lehman Shock and its Influence on Banking Supervision Policy /2008-2013 -- Chapter 4) The Launch of Abenomics and its effects on the banking business -- Chapter 5) The future of banking management in Japan -- Chapter 6) Conclusion En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1057/978-1-137-54118-5 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=42022 Financial Crisis and Bank Management in Japan (1997 to 2016) : Building a Stable Banking System [documento electrónico] / Mitsuhiko Nakano ; SpringerLink (Online service) . - London : Palgrave Macmillan UK : Imprint: Palgrave Macmillan, 2016 . - XXII, 184 p. 28 illus., 3 illus. in color : online resource. - (Palgrave Macmillan Studies in Banking and Financial Institutions) .

Initial chapters provide an overview of the cognitive factors affecting financial decisions and suggest a link between limited cognitive capacity and the need for financial education. The book then expands on these cognitive limitations to explore the tendency for overconfidence in decision-making and the interplay between rational and irrational factors. This comprehensive collection of papers will be of value to all readers who seek to better understand the multi-factorial and complex nature of personal financial management in today's economic climate Nota de contenido: Introduction; Tina Harrison -- Chapter 1: Cognitive drivers of suboptimal financial decisions: Implications for financial literacy campaigns; Hooman Estelami -- Chapter 2: How mutual fund investors' objective and subjective knowledge impacts their information search and processing behaviour; Sanjay Kumar Mishra and Manoj Kumar -- Chapter 3: Do investors show an attentional bias toward past performance? The author pays particular attention to its functions and powers in dealing with Suspicious Activities Reports and relevant requirements imposed upon the reporting entities. In the analysis, the author also compares the United Arab Emirates FIU model to the United Kingdom FIU model. In addition, the book investigates whether the current United Arab Emirates FIU model complies with the relevant international recommendations developed by the Financial Action Task Force in relation to the establishment of the unit, as well as its powers and functions. This book suggests that more can be done to improve the current functions and powers of the United Arab Emirates FIU in an international context. Furthermore, the author suggests that the functions and powers of the United FIU model both comply with the international requirements and beneficially extend beyond their directives. Nota de contenido: 1) Introduction -- 2) Literature Review -- 3) Banking confidentiality versus disclosure -- 4) The Nature of the FIU from the Perspective of International Standards -- 5) The Emergence of the United Arab Emirates' FIU in Counteracting Money Laundering -- 6) Empirical Investigation in Relation to the AMLSCU -- 7) The United Kingdom's Anti-Money Laundering Legislation and System -- 8) The United Kingdom's SARS Regime on Money Laundering -- 9) The Role of the SOCA, Now the NCA, in the SARS Regime -- 10) Recommendations and Conclusion En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1057/978-1-137-59455-6 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=42107 Anti-Money Laundering : A Comparative and Critical Analysis of the UK and UAE's Financial Intelligence Units [documento electrónico] / Waleed Alhosani ; SpringerLink (Online service) . - London : Palgrave Macmillan UK : Imprint: Palgrave Macmillan, 2016 . - XIX, 402 p. 10 illus : online resource. - (Palgrave Studies in Risk, Crime and Society) .
