Título : An Introduction to Queueing Theory and Matrix-Analytic Methods Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Breuer, L ; SpringerLink (Online service) ; D. Baum Editorial: Dordrecht : Springer Netherlands Fecha de publicación: 2005 Número de páginas: XIV, 272 p Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-1-4020-3631-6 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Mathematics Computer communication systems system failures Computers Mathematical statistics models Probabilities Probability Theory and Stochastic Processes Communication Networks of Computation System Performance Evaluation Statistics in Science Modeling Industrial Clasificación: 51 Matemáticas Resumen: The present textbook contains the recordsof a two–semester course on que- ing theory, including an introduction to matrix–analytic methods. This course comprises four hours oflectures and two hours of exercises per week andhas been taughtattheUniversity of Trier, Germany, for about ten years in - quence. The course is directed to last year undergraduate and?rst year gr- uate students of applied probability and computer science, who have already completed an introduction to probability theory. Its purpose is to present - terial that is close enough to concrete queueing models and their applications, while providing a sound mathematical foundation for the analysis of these. Thus the goal of the present book is two–fold. On the one hand, students who are mainly interested in applications easily feel bored by elaborate mathematical questions in the theory of stochastic processes. The presentation of the mathematical foundations in our courses is chosen to cover only the necessary results, which are needed for a solid foundation of the methods of queueing analysis. Further, students oriented - wards applications expect to have a justi?cation for their mathematical efforts in terms of immediate use in queueing analysis. This is the main reason why we have decided to introduce new mathematical concepts only when they will be used in the immediate sequel. On the other hand, students of applied probability do not want any heur- tic derivations just for the sake of yielding fast results for the model at hand Nota de contenido: Queues: The Art of Modelling -- Markov Chains and Queues in Discrete Time -- Homogeneous Markov Processes on Discrete State Spaces -- Markovian Queues in Continuous Time -- Markovian Queueing Networks -- Renewal Theory -- Markov Renewal Theory -- Semi-Markovian Queues -- Phase-Type Distributions -- Markovian Arrival Processes -- The GI/PH/1 Queue -- The BMAP/G/1 Queue -- Discrete Time Approaches -- Spatial Markovian Arrival Processes En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/1-4020-3631-0 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=35215 An Introduction to Queueing Theory and Matrix-Analytic Methods [documento electrónico] / Breuer, L ; SpringerLink (Online service) ; D. Título : Benchmarking Transaction and Analytical Processing Systems : The Creation of a Mixed Workload Benchmark and its Application Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Bog, Anja ; SpringerLink (Online service) Editorial: Berlin, Heidelberg : Springer Berlin Heidelberg Fecha de publicación: 2014 Otro editor: Imprint: Springer Colección: In-Memory Data Management Research Número de páginas: XIII, 164 p Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-3-642-38070-9 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Business Information technology Data processing Computer system failures Computers Database management simulation and Management IT in Models Principles System Performance Evaluation Simulation Modeling Clasificación: 658 Empresas. Organización de empresas Resumen: Systems for Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) and Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) are currently separate. The potential of the latest technologies and changes in operational and analytical applications over the last decade have given rise to the unification of these systems, which can be of benefit for both workloads. Research and industry have reacted and prototypes of hybrid database systems are now appearing. Benchmarks are the standard method for evaluating, comparing and supporting the development of new database systems. Because of the separation of OLTP and OLAP systems, existing benchmarks are only focused on one or the other. With the rise of hybrid database systems, benchmarks to assess these systems will be needed as well. Based on the examination of existing benchmarks, a new benchmark for hybrid database systems is introduced in this book. It is furthermore used to determine the effect of adding OLAP to an OLTP workload and is applied to analyze the impact of typically used optimizations in the historically separate OLTP and OLAP domains in mixed-workload scenarios Nota de contenido: Introduction -- Part I: Background of Transactional and Analytical Systems in Logical Database Design and Benchmarking -- Part II: Towards a Benchmark for Mixed Workloads and its Application in Evaluating Database Schemas -- Part III: Implementation, Evaluation, and Discussion -- Part IV: Appendix En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-3-642-38070-9 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=36133 Benchmarking Transaction and Analytical Processing Systems : The Creation of a Mixed Workload Benchmark and its Application [documento electrónico] / Bog, Anja ; SpringerLink (Online service) . - Berlin, Heidelberg : Springer Berlin Heidelberg : Imprint: Springer, 2014 . - XIII, 164 p : online resource. - (In-Memory Data Management Research) .

Título : Introduction to Queueing Systems with Telecommunication Applications Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Lakatos, Laszlo ; SpringerLink (Online service) ; Szeidl, Laszlo ; Telek, Miklos Editorial: Boston, MA : Springer US Fecha de publicación: 2013 Otro editor: Imprint: Springer Número de páginas: XII, 388 p Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-1-4614-5317-8 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Mathematics Computer system failures Operations research Management science Probabilities Electrical engineering Probability Theory and Stochastic Processes Research, Science System Performance Evaluation Communications Engineering, Networks Clasificación: 51 Matemáticas Resumen: The book is composed of two main parts: mathematical background and queueing systems with applications. The mathematical background is a self containing introduction to the stochastic processes of the later studies queueing systems. It starts with a quick introduction to probability theory and stochastic processes and continues with chapters on Markov chains and regenerative processes. More recent advances of queueing systems are based on phase type distributions, Markov arrival processes and quasy birth death processes, which are introduced in the last chapter of the first part. The second part is devoted to queueing models and their applications. After the introduction of the basic Markovian (from M/M/1 to M/M/1//N) and non-Markovian (M/G/1, G/M/1) queueing systems, a chapter presents the analysis of queues with phase type distributions, Markov arrival processes (from PH/M/1 to MAP/PH/1/K). The next chapter presents the classical queueing network results and the rest of this part is devoted to the application examples. There are queueing models for bandwidth charing with different traffic classes, slotted multiplexers, ATM switches, media access protocols like Aloha and IEEE 802.11b, priority systems and retrial systems. An appendix supplements the technical content with Laplace and z transformation rules, Bessel functions and a list of notations. The book contains examples and exercises throughout and could be used for graduate students in engineering, mathematics and sciences Nota de contenido: Preface -- Introduction to probability theory -- Introduction to stochastic processes -- Markov chains -- Renewal and regenerative processes -- Markov chains with special structures -- Introduction to queueing systems -- Markovian queueing systems -- Non-Markovian queueing systems -- Queueing systems with structured Markov chains -- Queueing networks -- Applied queueing systems -- Functions and transforms -- Exercises -- References.- En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-1-4614-5317-8 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=32249 Introduction to Queueing Systems with Telecommunication Applications [documento electrónico] / Lakatos, Laszlo ; SpringerLink (Online service) ; Szeidl, Laszlo ; Telek, Miklos . - Boston, MA : Springer US : Imprint: Springer, 2013 . - XII, 388 p : online resource.
