Título : Optimization and Multiobjective Control of Time-Discrete Systems : Dynamic Networks and Multilayered Structures Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Stefan Wolfgang Pickl ; SpringerLink (Online service) ; Dmitrii Lozovanu Editorial: Berlin, Heidelberg : Springer Berlin Heidelberg Fecha de publicación: 2009 Número de páginas: XVI, 285 p. 53 illus Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-3-540-85025-0 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Mathematics Operations research Decision making Calculus of variations Control engineering Robotics Mechatronics Quality control Reliability Industrial safety Variations and Optimal Control; Optimization Operation Research/Decision Theory Control, Reliability, Safety Risk Robotics, Clasificación: 51 Matemáticas Resumen: The study of discrete structures and networks becomes more and more important in decision theory. A relevant topic in modern control theory reflecting this fact is concerned with multiobjective control problems and dynamical games. The monograph presents recent developments and applications in the field of multiobjective control of time-discrete systems with a finite set of states. The dynamics of such systems is described by a directed graph in which each vertex corresponds to a dynamic state and the edges correspond to transitions of the system moving from one state to another. This characterization allows us to formulate the considered control models on special dynamic networks. Suitable algorithms are derived exploiting multilayered structures. Game theoretical properties are characterized. A multilayered game on a network can be used to model a certain trading procedure of emission certificates within Kyoto process. Optimal economic behavior and equilibria can be determined Nota de contenido: Multi-Objective Control of Time-Discrete Systems and Dynamic Games on Networks -- Max-Min Control Problems and Solving Zero-Sum Games on Networks -- Extension and Generalization of Discrete Control Problems and Algorithmic Approaches for its Solving -- Discrete Control and Optimal Dynamic Flow Problems on Networks -- Applications and Related Topics En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-3-540-85025-0 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=34030 Optimization and Multiobjective Control of Time-Discrete Systems : Dynamic Networks and Multilayered Structures [documento electrónico] / Stefan Wolfgang Pickl ; SpringerLink (Online service) ; Dmitrii Lozovanu . - Berlin, Heidelberg : Springer Berlin Heidelberg, 2009 . - XVI, 285 p. 53 illus : online resource.

Título : Controlled Markov Processes and Viscosity Solutions Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Wendell H. Fleming ; SpringerLink (Online service) ; H.M. Soner Editorial: New York, NY : Springer New York Fecha de publicación: 2006 Colección: Stochastic Modelling and Applied Probability, ISSN 0172-4568 num. 25 Número de páginas: XVII, 429 p Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-0-387-31071-8 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Mathematics Operations research Decision making Economics, Mathematical System theory Probabilities Control engineering Robotics Mechatronics Probability Theory and Stochastic Processes Systems Theory, Control, Robotics, Operation Research/Decision Quantitative Finance Clasificación: 51 Matemáticas Resumen: This book is intended as an introduction to optimal stochastic control for continuous time Markov processes and to the theory of viscosity solutions. Stochastic control problems are treated using the dynamic programming approach. The authors approach stochastic control problems by the method of dynamic programming. The fundamental equation of dynamic programming is a nonlinear evolution equation for the value function. For controlled Markov diffusion processes, this becomes a nonlinear partial differential equation of second order, called a Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman (HJB) equation. Typically, the value function is not smooth enough to satisfy the HJB equation in a classical sense. Viscosity solutions provide framework in which to study HJB equations, and to prove continuous dependence of solutions on problem data. The theory is illustrated by applications from engineering, management science, and financial economics. In this second edition, new material on applications to mathematical finance has been added. Concise introductions to risk-sensitive control theory, nonlinear H-infinity control and differential games are also included. Review of the earlier edition: "This book is highly recommended to anyone who wishes to learn the dinamic principle applied to optimal stochastic control for diffusion processes. Without any doubt, this is a fine book and most likely it is going to become a classic on the area... ." SIAM Review, 1994 Nota de contenido: Deterministic Optimal Control -- Viscosity Solutions -- Optimal Control of Markov Processes: Classical Solutions -- Controlled Markov Diffusions in ?n -- Viscosity Solutions: Second-Order Case -- Logarithmic Transformations and Risk Sensitivity -- Singular Perturbations -- Singular Stochastic Control -- Finite Difference Numerical Approximations -- Applications to Finance -- Differential Games En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/0-387-31071-1 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=34778 Controlled Markov Processes and Viscosity Solutions [documento electrónico] / Wendell H. Sain on the occasion of his seventieth birthday—is a collection of chapters covering recent advances in stochastic optimal control theory and algebraic systems theory. Written by experts in their respective fields, the chapters are thematically organized into four parts: * Part I focuses on statistical control theory, where the cost function is viewed as a random variable and performance is shaped through cost cumulants. In this respect, statistical control generalizes linear-quadratic-Gaussian and H-infinity control. * Part II addresses algebraic systems theory, reviewing the use of algebraic systems over semirings, modules of zeros for linear multivariable systems, and zeros in linear time-delay systems. * Part III discusses advances in dynamical systems characteristics. The chapters focus on the stability of a discontinuous dynamical system, approximate decentralized fixed modes, direct optimal adaptive control, and stability of nonlinear systems with limited information. * Part IV covers engineering education and includes a unique chapter on theology and engineering, one of Sain's latest research interests. The book will be a useful reference for researchers and graduate students in systems and control, algebraic systems theory, and applied mathematics. Requiring only knowledge of undergraduate-level control and systems theory, the work may be used as a supplementary textbook in a graduate course on optimal control or algebraic systems theory Nota de contenido: Statistical Control -- and Literature Survey of Statistical Control: Going Beyond the Mean -- Cumulant Control Systems: The Cost-Variance, Discrete-Time Case -- Statistical Control of Stochastic Systems Incorporating Integral Feedback: Performance Robustness Analysis -- Multi-Cumulant and Pareto Solutions for Tactics Change Prediction and Performance Analysis in Stochastic Multi-Team Noncooperative Games -- A Multiobjective Cumulant Control Problem -- Algebraic Systems Theory -- Systems over a Semiring: Realization and Decoupling -- Modules of Zeros for Linear Multivariable Systems -- Zeros in Linear Time-Delay Systems -- Dynamical System Characteristics -- On the Status of the Stability Theory of Discontinuous Dynamical Systems -- Direct Adaptive Optimal Control: Biologically Inspired Feedback Control -- Characterization and Calculation of Approximate Decentralized Fixed Modes (ADFMs) -- Some New Nonlinear and Symbol Manipulation Techniques to Mitigate Adverse Effects of High PAPR in OFDM Wireless Communications -- Homogeneous Domination and the Decentralized Control Problem for Nonlinear System Stabilization -- Volterra Control Synthesis -- Engineering Education -- The First Professional Degree: Master of Engineering? -- Theology and Engineering: A Conversation in Two Languages En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-0-8176-4795-7 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=34287 Advances in Statistical Control, Algebraic Systems Theory, and Dynamic Systems Characteristics : A Tribute to Michael K. With the exception of a few more advanced concepts required for the final part of the book, the presentation requires only a knowledge of basic facts from linear algebra, differential equations, and calculus. In addition to classical concepts and ideas, the author covers the stabilization of nonlinear systems using topological methods, realization theory for nonlinear systems, impulsive control and positive systems, the control of rigid bodies, the stabilization of infinite dimensional systems, and the solution of minimum energy problems. The book will be ideal for a beginning graduate course in mathematical control theory, or for self study by professionals needing a complete picture of the mathematical theory that underlies the applications of control theory. "This book is designed as a graduate text on the mathematical theory of deterministic control. It covers a remarkable number of topics...The exposition is excellent, and the book is a joy to read. A novel one-semester course covering both linear and nonlinear systems could be given...The book is an excellent one for introducing a mathematician to control theory." — Bulletin of the AMS "The book is very well written from a mathematical point of view of control theory. The author deserves much credit for bringing out such a book which is a useful and welcome addition to books on the mathematics of control theory." — Control Theory and Advance Technology "At last! We did need an introductory textbook on control which can be read, understood, and enjoyed by anyone." — Gian-Carlo Rota, The Bulletin of Mathematics Books Nota de contenido: Elements of classical control theory -- Controllability and observability -- Stability and stabilizability -- Realization theory -- Systems with constraints -- Nonlinear control systems -- Controllability and observability of nonlinear systems -- Stability and stabilizability -- Realization theory -- Optimal control -- Dynamic programming -- Dynamic programming for impulse control -- The maximum principle -- The existence of optimal strategies -- Infinite dimensional linear systems -- Linear control systems -- Controllability -- Stability and stabilizability -- Linear regulators in Hilbert spaces En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-0-8176-4733-9 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=34283 Mathematical Control Theory : An Introduction [documento electrónico] / Jerzy Zabczyk ; SpringerLink (Online service) . - Boston, MA : Birkhäuser Boston, 2008 . - X, 260 p : online resource. - (Modern Birkhäuser Classics, ISSN 2197-1803) .
