Título : Handbook of Ratings : Approaches to Ratings in the Economy, Sports, and Society Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Alexander Karminsky ; Andrey Polozov ; SpringerLink (Online service) Editorial: Cham : Springer International Publishing Fecha de publicación: 2016 Otro editor: Imprint: Springer Número de páginas: XVIII, 356 p. 44 illus., 12 illus. in color Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-3-319-39261-5 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Finance Statistics Sports Economic aspects Finance, general Economics for Business/Economics/Mathematical Finance/Insurance Clasificación: 330 Economía en general Resumen: This handbook presents a systematic overview of approaches to, diversity, and problems involved in interdisciplinary rating methodologies. Historically, the purpose of ratings is to achieve information transparency regarding a given body's activities, whether in the field of finance, banking, or sports for example. This book focuses on commonly used rating methods in three important fields: finance, sports, and the social sector. In the world of finance, investment decisions are largely shaped by how positively or negatively economies or financial instruments are rated. Ratings have thus become a basis of trust for investors. Similarly, sports evaluation and funding are largely based on core ratings. From local communities to groups of nations, public investment and funding are also dependent on how these bodies are continuously rated against expected performance targets. As such, ratings need to reflect the consensus of all stakeholders on selected aspects of the work and how to evaluate their success. The public should also have the opportunity to participate in this process. The authors examine current rating approaches from a variety of proposals that are closest to the public consensus, analyzing the rating models and summarizing the methods of their construction. This handbook offers a valuable reference guide for managers, analysts, economists, business informatics specialists, and researchers alike Nota de contenido: General Approaches to Ratings: Ratings as Tools of Informational Transparency -- Ratings in the Economy and Business: Credit Ratings as Financial Risk Measure -- Modelling of Credit Ratings -- Ratings for the Regulation of Financial Markets -- Ratings of Quality and Management -- Ratings and Rankings in Sports: Problem of Rating in Sports and Its Possible Solutions -- Evolution of Ideas About Rating and Ranking in Sports -- A Universal Solution to the Problem of Ratings and Rankings in Sports -- Management Based on the Universal Rating Model -- Ratings and Rankings in Public Life. Organización de empresas Resumen: This Brief identifies and contrasts the groups of expansion franchises and any teams that relocated from one metropolitan area or city to another within the National Football League (NFL) during three distinct periods from 1920 to 2013. It discusses historical differences and similarities between the teams’ markets and performances before 1933 and then as members of the NFL’s divisions and conferences. It measures and compares the emergence, development and success of the teams by analyzing demographic, economic and sport-specific data. It also discusses the NFL’s mergers with the All American Football Conference (1950) and American Football League (1970), outlining the reasons for and consequences of these mergers as well as their significance for sports fans and markets. The book makes an important, relevant and useful contribution to the literature regarding professional sports operations and to the NFL’s short and long run business strategies in American culture. Besides numerous sports fans within metropolitan areas and extended markets of these NFL teams, the book’s audiences are sports historians and researchers, college and public libraries and current and potential NFL franchise owners and team executives. The book may also be used as a reference or supplemental text for college and university students enrolled in such applied undergraduate and graduate courses and seminars as sports administration, sports business and sports management En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-3-319-05705-7 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=36055 National Football League Strategies : Business Expansions, Relocations, and Mergers [documento electrónico] / Frank P.
