Título : Ordered Sets Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Egbert Harzheim ; SpringerLink (Online service) Editorial: Boston, MA : Springer US Fecha de publicación: 2005 Colección: Advances in Mathematics num. 7 Número de páginas: XII, 386 p Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-0-387-24222-4 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Mathematics Algebra Ordered algebraic structures Order, Lattices, Algebraic Structures Clasificación: 51 Matemáticas Resumen: The textbook literature on ordered sets is still rather limited. A lot of material is presented in this book that appears now for the first time in a textbook. Order theory works with combinatorial and set-theoretical methods, depending on whether the sets under consideration are finite or infinite. In this book the set-theoretical parts prevail. The book treats in detail lexicographic products and their connections with universally ordered sets, and further it gives thorough investigations on the structure of power sets. Other topics dealt with include dimension theory of ordered sets, well-quasi-ordered sets, trees, combinatorial set theory for ordered sets, comparison of order types, and comparibility graphs. Audience This book is intended for mathematics students and for mathemeticians who are interested in set theory. Only some fundamental parts of naïve set theory are presupposed. Since all proofs are worked out in great detail, the book should be suitable as a text for a course on order theory Nota de contenido: Fundamental notions of set theory -- Fundamental notions -- General relations between posets and their chains and antichains -- Linearly ordered sets -- Products of orders -- Universally ordered sets -- Applications of the splitting method -- The dimension of posets -- Well-founded posets, pwo-sets and trees -- On the order structure of power sets -- Comparison of order types -- Comparability graphs En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/b104891 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=35079 Ordered Sets [documento electrónico] / Egbert Harzheim ; SpringerLink (Online service) . - Boston, MA : Springer US, 2005 . - XII, 386 p : online resource. - (Advances in Mathematics; 7) .

Although as a whole it is mainly intended for beginning postgraduates, the prerequisities are minimal and selected parts can profitably be used to broaden the horizon of the advanced undergraduate. The treatment is modern, with a slant towards recent developments in the theory of residuated lattices and ordered regular semigroups. Topics covered include: [bulleted list] residuated mappings Galois connections modular, distributive, and complemented lattices Boolean algebras pseudocomplemented lattices Stone algebras Heyting algebras ordered groups lattice-ordered groups representable groups Archimedean ordered structures ordered semigroups naturally ordered regular and inverse Dubreil-Jacotin semigroups [end od bulleted list] Featuring material that has been hitherto available only in research articles, and an account of the range of applications of the theory, there are also many illustrative examples and numerous exercises throughout, making it ideal for use as a course text, or as a basic introduction to the field for researchers in mathematics, logic and computer science. T. S. Título : Lattice-ordered Rings and Modules Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Steinberg, Stuart A ; SpringerLink (Online service) Editorial: New York, NY : Springer New York Fecha de publicación: 2010 Número de páginas: XVIII, 630 p Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-1-4419-1721-8 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Mathematics Algebra Associative rings Rings (Algebra) Ordered algebraic structures Order, Lattices, Algebraic Structures and Algebras Clasificación: 51 Matemáticas Resumen: This book provides an exposition of the algebraic aspects of the theory of lattice-ordered rings and lattice-ordered modules. All of the background material on rings, modules, and lattice-ordered groups necessary to make the work self-contained and accessible to a variety of readers is included. Steinberg includes in his presentation of the material 800+ extensive exercises of varying levels of difficulty at the end of each of the sections. The first two chapters of the book provide a thorough introduction to the material, while the following four chapters delve into more specific topics. Key topics include: *lattice-ordered groups, rings, and fields; *archimedean $l$-groups; *f-rings and larger varieties of $l$-rings; *the category of f-modules; *various commutativity results. Filling a gap in the literature, Lattice-Ordered Rings and Modules may be used as a textbook or for self-study by graduate students and researchers studying lattice-ordered rings and lattice-ordered modules Nota de contenido: Partially Ordered Sets and Lattices -- Lattice-ordered Groups -- Lattice-ordered Rings -- The Category of -Modules -- Lattice-ordered Fields -- Additional Topics En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-1-4419-1721-8 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=33605 Lattice-ordered Rings and Modules [documento electrónico] / Steinberg, Stuart A ; SpringerLink (Online service) . - New York, NY : Springer New York, 2010 . - XVIII, 630 p : online resource.

It can be used for a course at the graduate or advanced undergraduate level or for independent study. Prerequisites are kept to a minimum, but an introductory course in abstract algebra is highly recommended, since many of the examples are drawn from this area. The book has an excellent choice of topics, including a chapter on well ordering and ordinal numbers, which is not usually found in other texts. The approach is user-friendly and the presentation is lucid. There are more than 240 carefully chosen exercises. Topic coverage includes: modular, semimodular and distributive lattices, boolean algebras, representation of distributive lattices, algebraic lattices, congruence relations on lattices, free lattices, fixed-point theorems, duality theory and more. Steven Roman is the author of many successful textbooks, including Advanced Linear Algebra, 3rd Edition (Springer 2007), Field Theory, 2nd Edition (Springer 2005), and Introduction to the Mathematics of Finance (2004) Nota de contenido: Basic Theory -- Partially Ordered Sets -- Well-Ordered Sets -- Lattices -- Modular and Distributive Lattices -- Boolean Algebras -- The Representation of Distributive Lattices -- Algebraic Lattices -- Prime and Maximal Ideals; Separation Theorems -- Congruence Relations on Lattices -- Topics -- Duality for Distributive Lattices: The Priestley Topology -- Free Lattices -- Fixed-Point Theorems En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-0-387-78901-9 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=34254 Lattices and Ordered Sets [documento electrónico] / Roman, Steven ; SpringerLink (Online service) . - New York, NY : Springer New York, 2008 . - XV, 305 p : online resource.
