Organización de empresas Resumen: The world has changed dramatically in recent years and so has the field of economics, but many introductory economics textbooks have remained stuck in the past. This book provides a new beginning for the study of macroeconomics, fundamentally international in its approach and emphasizing current debates and research trends. The first, mostly descriptive half of the book presents the main macroeconomic and financial patterns observed across the world, the institutions that govern national economies and the policy options available to decision-makers. In the second half, different schools of thought in macroeconomics are introduced with an emphasis on their underlying assumptions, so that students can judge for themselves how well they apply in real-world situations. Throughout the book, the post-2007 financial crisis is a continuing focus and financial markets are fully integrated in the analysis. Policy debates are viewed in light of political economy considerations, both domestic and international. The book’s style focuses on in-depth explanations and supports teaching methodologies based on critical thinking and active learning, encouraging students to relate to current discussions, especially those taking place online Nota de contenido: 1 Introduction: Economic Growth and Development in Historical Perspective.- 2 Some Relevant Microeconomics -- Part I: The Terrain of Macroeconomics -- 3 Accounts and Measurements -- 4 The Fundamental Macroeconomic Identities.- 5 Macroeconomic Issues: Output, Employment, Inflation, Financial Stability.- 6 Macroeconomic Adjustment.- 7 An Introduction to Money, Banks and Financial Systems.- 8 International Finance: A World of Many Moneys -- 9 International Trade in an Interdependent World -- Part II: Macroeconomic Theories in Conflict.- 10 Classical Economic Doctrine and the Keynesian Challenge.- 11 Equilibrium National Income and Financial Balances in a Keynesian World.- 12 Keynesian Fiscal Policy -- 13 Central Banks and Monetary Policy. Título : Macroeconomics, Trade, and Social Welfare Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Michihiro Ohyama ; SpringerLink (Online service) Editorial: Tokyo : Springer Japan Fecha de publicación: 2016 Otro editor: Imprint: Springer Colección: Advances in Japanese Business and Economics, ISSN 2197-8859 num. 14 Número de páginas: XIII, 232 p. 330 illus Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-4-431-55807-1 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Trade Business Commerce Macroeconomics Public finance Economics Macroeconomics/Monetary Economics//Financial Clasificación: 330 Economía en general Resumen: This book develops new, original methods of welfare comparison and comparative dynamics between distinct and discretely positioned (rather than continuously related) socioeconomic situations. These methods are not only realistic but also extremely relevant to serious economic problems. Using them, the book sheds illuminating new light on the theoretical analysis of Keynesian economics and other important issues of political economy. For instance, it shows that the principle of effective demand applies exactly as Keynes put it to the unemployment equilibrium in the short run. It also shows that the equilibrium may change along the expansion path as the government chooses to vary its expenditure to maximize national welfare. The same methods are effectively employed theoretically to investigate modern trade policy issues such as gains from trade, the theory of tariffs, free trade agreements, and the role of the WTO. Those methods are also used to study the welfare and efficiency of various socioeconomic situations Nota de contenido: Part I Welfare and Macroeconomics -- Chapter 1 Multiplier Theory and Public Goods: A Macroeconomics of the Mixed System -- Chapter 2 Unemployment and Inflation: Natural Wage Rate Hypothesis -- Chapter 3 A Macroeconomic Theory of Money, Income, and Distribution -- Part II Welfare and Trade -- Chapter 4 Trade and Welfare in General Equilibrium -- Chapter 5 Domestic Distortions and the Theory of Tariffs -- Chapter 6 Tariffs and the Transfer Problem -- Chapter 7 Innovations and International Trade -- Chapter 8 Factor Endowments and Pattern of Commodity and Factor Trade -- Chapter 9 Partial Free Trade Agreements and Economic Welfare: Reconsidering GATT Article 24 -- Chapter 10 Market, Trade and Welfare in General Equilibrium -- Part ? Título : International Finance and Open-Economy Macroeconomics Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Giancarlo Gandolfo ; SpringerLink (Online service) Editorial: Berlin, Heidelberg : Springer Berlin Heidelberg Fecha de publicación: 2016 Otro editor: Imprint: Springer Colección: Springer Texts in Business and Economics, ISSN 2192-4333 Número de páginas: XXI, 681 p. 50 illus Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-3-662-49862-0 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Economics, Mathematical Macroeconomics International economics Economics Macroeconomics/Monetary Economics//Financial Quantitative Finance Clasificación: 330 Economía en general Resumen: This book deals with the financial side of international economics and covers all aspects of international finance. There are many books and articles by exponents of alternative points of view. I know of no other book that provides the scope, balance, objectivity and rigor of this book. the late Professor Jerome L. Stein, Brown University This book is a second edition of a volume on international finance first published in 2001. Like Giancarlo's other books in International Economics, this book is organised as a two-books-in-one by distributing the material between text and appendices. The text provides coverage suitable for an undergraduate course while the mathematical appendices provide coverage of the topics at the frontier of the discipline and suitable for advanced undergraduate or graduate students in an international finance and international macroeconomics course. This edition updates the earlier volume and covers all the classic topics as well as the more recent advances in the theory and modelling of international finance. It includes some discussion of the empirical testing of these theories and where appropriate reference to the extensive empirical literature is also provided. This book is a valuable addition to the bookshelf of any serious International Finance Scholar and provides a treasure chest of material for any quality international finance course. Professor Pasquale M Sgro, Deakin University Giancarlo Gandolfo is one of the profession's most gifted textbook authors on mathematical modeling and international economics. His revised International Finance and Open-Economy Macroeconomics is remarkable for its scope and clarity. The book covers the older and intertemporal approaches, and topics that are usually left out of graduate treatments (the chapter on balance-of-payments accounting is a gem). Gandolfo's two-tier approach of first developing topics with graphs and basic algebra and then providing rigorous mathematics for each topic makes the book ideal for advanced undergraduate and graduate classes. Professor Michael D. Goldberg, University of New Hampshire Nota de contenido: I Introduction -- International Finance and International Macroeconomics: An overview -- II The Basics -- The Foreign Exchange Market -- Exchange-Rate Regimes -- International Interest-Rate Parity Conditions -- The Balance of Payments -- real and Financial Flows in an Open Economy -- III The Approaches -- The Elasticity Approach -- The Multiplier Approach -- An Integrated Approach -- The Mundell-Fleming Model -- Policy Implications of the Mundell-Fleming Model -- IV Stock and Stock-Flow Approaches -- The Monetary Approach to the BP and Related Approaches -- Portfolio and Macroeconomic Equilibrium in an Open Economy -- Growth in an Open Economy -- V The Exchange Rate -- Exchange-Rate Determination -- Capital Movements, Speculation, and Currency Crises -- Fixed vs Flexible Exchange Rates -- VI The Intertemporal Approach -- The Intertemporal Approach, and the Real Exchange Rate -- Other Applications -- VII International Monetary Integration -- International Monetary Integration -- The European Monetary Union -- VIII Problems of the International Monetary (Non)System -- Key Events in the Postwar International Monetary System -- International Liquidity, and Xeno-Markets -- Current Problems En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-3-662-49862-0 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=41794 International Finance and Open-Economy Macroeconomics [documento electrónico] / Giancarlo Gandolfo ; SpringerLink (Online service) . - Berlin, Heidelberg : Springer Berlin Heidelberg : Imprint: Springer, 2016 . - XXI, 681 p. 50 illus : online resource. - (Springer Texts in Business and Economics, ISSN 2192-4333) .

Título : The Theory of New Classical Macroeconomics : A Positive Critique Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Peter Galbács ; SpringerLink (Online service) Editorial: Cham : Springer International Publishing Fecha de publicación: 2015 Otro editor: Imprint: Springer Colección: Contributions to Economics, ISSN 1431-1933 Número de páginas: XXI, 368 p. 29 illus Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-3-319-17578-2 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Philosophy and science Economic history theory Macroeconomics policy Economics Macroeconomics/Monetary Economics//Financial Methodology/History of Thought Theory/Quantitative Economics/Mathematical Methods Policy Science Clasificación: 658 Empresas. Organización de empresas Resumen: This book examines new classical macroeconomics from a comparative and critical point of view that confronts the original texts and later comments as a first dimension of comparison. The second dimension appears in a historical context, since none of the new classical doctrines can be analyzed ignoring the parallelism and discrepancies with the theory of Keynes, Friedman or Phelps. Radicalism of new classical macroeconomics has brought fundamental changes in economic thought, but the doctrines got vulgarized and distorted thanks to the mass of followers. Nowadays, economic theory and policy, trying to find their ways, have a less clear relationship than ever. Therefore, this volume is aimed at mapping and reconsidering the policy instruments and transmission mechanisms offered by the new classicals. Its central question points to the real nature of new classical macroeconomics: what consequences are grounded by the assumptions new classicals used. Moreover, issues raised by automatic fiscal stabilizers and fiscal reforms are analyzed as well, even if they were out of the range of classical texts. The book draws a picture of new classical macroeconomics stressing the analogies with Keynesian countercyclical policies, instead of the discrepancies commonly held Nota de contenido: Methodological Principles and an Epistemological Introduction -- The Rational Expectations Hypothesis as a Key Element of New Classical Macroeconomics -- The World View of New Classical Macroeconomics -- Monetary Policy in the New Classical Framework -- Fiscal Policy and New Classical Macroeconomics -- Economic Policy Consequences En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-3-319-17578-2 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=35647 The Theory of New Classical Macroeconomics : A Positive Critique [documento electrónico] / Peter Galbács ; SpringerLink (Online service) . - Cham : Springer International Publishing : Imprint: Springer, 2015 . - XXI, 368 p. 29 illus : online resource. - (Contributions to Economics, ISSN 1431-1933) .
