Título : Labor's Share of Income : Another Key to Understand China's Income Inequality Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Minghai Zhou ; SpringerLink (Online service) Editorial: Singapore : Springer Singapore Fecha de publicación: 2016 Otro editor: Imprint: Springer Número de páginas: XIX, 218 p. 25 illus. in color Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-981-10-0173-4 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Macroeconomics Labor economics Development Economics Macroeconomics/Monetary Economics//Financial Clasificación: 330 Economía en general Resumen: This book analyzes the decrease in labor share in China, which is a ratio of national income distribution to capital at three different levels (macro, meso, and micro) and from three different perspectives (growth, transition and opening up). The worsening income distribution has been a key issue for both Chinese and global economies in recent decades. The book shows that the decrease in labor share is closely related to economic growth, increasing extent of globalization, and firms with heterogeneous characteristics. Moreover, the book explains income inequality in detail, focusing on China's increasingly important and emerging economy. Título : A Feasible Basic Income Scheme for Germany : Effects on Labor Supply, Poverty, and Income Inequality Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Maximilian Sommer ; SpringerLink (Online service) Editorial: Cham : Springer International Publishing Fecha de publicación: 2016 Otro editor: Imprint: Springer Colección: Contributions to Economics, ISSN 1431-1933 Número de páginas: XXI, 198 p. 31 illus. in color Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-3-319-24064-0 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Microeconomics Public finance Social policy Labor economics Economics Policy Clasificación: 330 Economía en general Resumen: This book analyzes the consequences that would arise if Germany's means-tested unemployment benefits were replaced with an unconditional basic income. The basic income scheme introduced is based on a negative income tax and calibrated to be both financially feasible and compatible with current constitutional legislation. Using data from the German Socio-Economic Panel (GSOEP) the author examines the impact of the reform on the household labor supply as well as on both poverty and inequality measures. It is shown that by applying reasonable values for both the basic income and the implied marginal tax rate imposed on earned incomes, efficiency gains can be reconciled with generally accepted value statements. Furthermore, as the proposal includes a universal basic income for families, child poverty could be reduced considerably. The estimates are based on the discrete choice approach to labor supply Nota de contenido: Introduction -- The Normative Argument for an Unconditional Basic Income -- Implementation of a Basic Income by a Negative Income Tax -- A Negative Income Tax Proposal for Germany -- Modeling Political Reforms: The Discrete Approach to Labor Supply -- Implications on the Proposed Basic Income Reform En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-3-319-24064-0 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=42162 A Feasible Basic Income Scheme for Germany : Effects on Labor Supply, Poverty, and Income Inequality [documento electrónico] / Maximilian Sommer ; SpringerLink (Online service) . - Cham : Springer International Publishing : Imprint: Springer, 2016 . - XXI, 198 p. 31 illus. in color : online resource. - (Contributions to Economics, ISSN 1431-1933) .
