Título : Governance Arrangements for IT Project Portfolio Management : Qualitative Insights and a Quantitative Modeling Approach Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Thorsten Frey ; SpringerLink (Online service) Editorial: Wiesbaden : Springer Fachmedien Wiesbaden Fecha de publicación: 2014 Otro editor: Imprint: Springer Gabler Número de páginas: XXIV, 272 p. 31 illus Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-3-658-05661-2 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Business Corporate governance Organization Planning Information technology Data processing and Management IT in Governance Clasificación: 658 Empresas. Organización de empresas Resumen: Due to the growing importance of IT-based innovations, contemporary firms face an excessive number of proposals for IT projects. As typically only a fraction of these projects can be implemented with the given capacity, IT project portfolio management as a relatively new discipline has received growing attention in research and practice in recent years. Thorsten Frey demonstrates how companies are struggling to find the right balance between local autonomy and central overview about all projects in the organization. In this context, impacts of different contextual factors on the design of governance arrangements for IT project portfolio management are demonstrated. Moreover, consequences of the use of different organizational designs are analyzed. The author presents insights from a qualitative empirical study as well as a simulative approach. Organización de empresas Resumen: IT is currently going through one of its most critical phases of transformation. IT vendors and IT service organizations are revolutionizing their production and service processes, adopting industrial practices. It is only through the consistent transformation into factory-like structures that quality, effectiveness and efficiency can be increased. By integrating professional concepts and methods taken from the context of industrial production, it is possible to meet functional and qualitative requirements from the departments and therefore from the end user. On top of that this new paradigm enables the implementation of optimal processes in the organization. An interdisciplinary team of authors addresses the current challenges for global IT services organizations and describes the process of IT industrialization. The transformation of the IT industry towards the model of an IT factory is the core theme of this book, which takes the latest findings from applied research, consulting and IT business practices and combines them into a consistent and innovative approach to IT services Nota de contenido: Part 1: Critical Factors for Successful Global IT Service Organizations -- Part 2: Industrial Reformation -- Part 3: Tools for Immediate Optimization and Greater Efficiency -- Part 4: Structural Changes -- Part 5: Innovation Ecosystem -- Part 6: A Route for Industrial IT Production En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-3-642-40219-7 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=36159 The Road to a Modern IT Factory : Industrialization – Automation – Optimization [documento electrónico] / SpringerLink (Online service) ; Ferri Abolhassan . - Berlin, Heidelberg : Springer Berlin Heidelberg : Imprint: Springer, 2014 . - XX, 210 p. 61 illus : online resource. - (Management for Professionals, ISSN 2192-8096) .

Internet) Innovation/Technology Clasificación: 658 Empresas. Organización de empresas Resumen: This book develops an IT strategy for cloud computing that helps businesses evaluate their readiness for cloud services and calculate the ROI. The framework provided helps reduce risks involved in transitioning from traditional “on site” IT strategy to virtual “cloud computing.” Since the advent of cloud computing, many organizations have made substantial gains implementing this innovation. Cloud computing allows companies to focus more on their core competencies, as IT enablement is taken care of through cloud services. Cloud Computing and ROI: A New Framework for IT Strategy includes case studies covering retail, automobile and food processing industries. Each of these case studies have successfully implemented the cloud computing framework, and their strategies are explained. As cloud computing may not be ideal for all businesses, criteria is also offered to help determine if this strategy should be adopted Nota de contenido: Introduction -- Understanding IT Strategy -- Cloud Computing and Social-Commerce -- Cloud Computing Strategy -- Cloud Computing Strategy Design for Myntra.com -- Case Study: Developing Cloud Computing Strategy for Dabur -- Cloud Computing Strategy for Mahindra Automobiles En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-3-319-08663-7 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=36096 Cloud Computing and ROI : A New Framework for IT Strategy [documento electrónico] / Sanjay Mohapatra ; SpringerLink (Online service) ; Laxmikant Lokhande . - Cham : Springer International Publishing : Imprint: Springer, 2014 . - XVII, 214 p. 65 illus., 50 illus. in color : online resource. - (Management for Professionals, ISSN 2192-8096) .

Título : The Value Imperative : Harvesting Value from Your IT Initiatives Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: Gerald G. Grant ; Robert Collins ; SpringerLink (Online service) Editorial: New York : Palgrave Macmillan US Fecha de publicación: 2016 Otro editor: Imprint: Palgrave Macmillan Número de páginas: XVII, 207 p. 21 illus., 1 illus. in color Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-1-137-59040-4 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Business Project management Management Industrial Information technology Data processing information systems and Innovation/Technology IT in Infrastructure Clasificación: 658 Empresas. Organización de empresas Resumen: The advances of modern computer-based innovation have been mind-bogglingly fast and have changed both business and everyday life around the world. But change has not come evenly. The very pace of technological advancement has tended to hide some fundamental problems that have existed from the start. These involve, not the technology only, but the management and application of that technology. The human and organizational factors have not kept pace. They have remained relatively static and, to a shocking degree, ineffective. As a result, the IT department in any organization has somehow remained a breed apart. Communication between IT and the rest of the organization is fraught with misunderstanding. This leads to failures, recrimination, and, sometimes, wholesale changes which fall well wide of their goals. The authors wrote this book because they wanted both business and IT to change the way they think and talk about how IT is invested in and managed in organizations. In The Value Imperative readers will be introduced to a new business model called The Agricultural Model created by the authors for managing IT in organizations. This innovative model will help you learn how to change the mindset of people in your organization about how IT should be invested in and managed; key considerations for ensuring that business value is delivered from IT investments; how to measure that value that has been delivered and whether there has been effective return on the investments made; and finally the authors challenge business and IT managers to focus on the business value that customers seek which will help companies. Nota de contenido: 1. Business and IT Challenges for Today's Organization -- 2. The Value Cycle -- 3. The Engineering Model of Business-IT Alignment -- 4. The Agricultural Model -- 5. The Value Realization Cycle -- 6. Governing IT Service Delivery -- 7. Enterprise Architecture -- 8. IT Investment Portfolio -- 9. Sourcing IT Services -- 10. Measuring IT Value Delivery -- 11.
