The objective of this paper is to provide an insight to the particularities of the financial stock market regarding the energy sector and compare its situation in an emerging market such as China and a consolidated one such as Europe. We provide a general overview of the stock markets in Europe and China, and then a closer look to their particularities in the energy sector. We proceed to do a comparison by choosing three comparable companies from each market and we will study its characteristics with particular attention to the variables obtained through Bloomberg. We develop an assessment and valuation of said companies (Siemens Gamesa, Royal Dutch Shell and Engie) in the European market and (China Shenhua Gas, China Power Clean Energy and Oriental Energy Co) in the Chinese one. Its development has been carried out to observe the current situation of the companies, the sector and the markets in order to conclusively compare the differences of the sector and the companies. |
