This volume contains some of the papers presented at the meeting. These fifteen refereed articles report on recent and original results in various areas of operator theory, all of them related with the work of Heinz Langer. The topics range from abstract spectral theory in Krein spaces to more concrete applications, e.g., to boundary value problems, the study of orthogonal functions or moment problems. The book closes with a historical survey paper. The scientific part of the book is preceeded by some biographical material and some information about the conference itself. This includes the conference program, the list of participants and an updated list of publications of Heinz Langer Nota de contenido: Research articles -- General Solution of the Stieltjes Truncated Matrix Moment Problem -- Q-functions of Quasi-selfadjoint Contractions -- A Class of Abstract Boundary Value Problems with Locally Definitizable Functions in the Boundary Condition -- Riesz Bases of Root Vectors of Indefinite Sturm-Liouville Problems with Eigenparameter Dependent Boundary Conditions, I -- Minimal Models for -functions -- Generalized Friedrichs Extensions Associated with Interface Conditions for Sturm-Liouville Operators -- Spectral Properties of Operator Polynomials with Nonnegative Coefficients -- Szeg? Pairs of Orthogonal Rational Matrix-valued Functions on the Unit Circle -- Singularities of Generalized Strings -- Orthogonal Polynomials on the Unit Circle with Respect to a Rational Weight Function -- Bi-dimensional Moment Problems and Regular Dilations -- Isospectral Vibrating Systems, Part 2: Structure Preserving Transformations -- A Functional Description for the Commutative WJ*-algebras of the D?+-class -- On Normal Extensions of Unbounded Operators: IV. A Matrix Construction -- Directing Mappings in Krein Spaces -- Survey Article -- The Extension Problem for Positive Definite Functions. Título : Wavelets, Multiscale Systems and Hypercomplex Analysis Tipo de documento: documento electrónico Autores: SpringerLink (Online service) ; Daniel Alpay ; Annemarie Luger ; Harald Woracek Editorial: Basel : Birkhäuser Basel Fecha de publicación: 2006 Colección: Operator Theory: Advances and Applications num. 167 Número de páginas: XI, 190 p Il.: online resource ISBN/ISSN/DL: 978-3-7643-7588-1 Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave: Mathematics Algebra Mathematical analysis Analysis (Mathematics) Harmonic Functions of complex variables Operator theory System Theory Systems Theory, Control a Complex Variable Abstract Clasificación: 51 Matemáticas Resumen: From a mathematical point of view it is fascinating to realize that most, if not all, of the notions arising from the theory of analytic functions in the open unit disk have counterparts when one replaces the integers by the nodes of a homogeneous tree. It is also fascinating to realize that a whole function theory, different from the classical theory of several complex variables, can be developped when one considers hypercomplex (Clifford) variables, Fueter polynomials and the Cauchy-Kovalevskaya product, in place of the classical polynomials in three independent variables. This volume contains a selection of papers on the topics of Clifford analysis and wavelets and multiscale analysis, the latter being understood in a very wide sense. The theory of wavelets is mathematically rich and has many practical applications. Contributors: R. Abreu-Blaya, J. Bory-Reyes, F. Brackx, Sh. Chandrasekaran, N. de Schepper, P. Dewilde, D.E. Dutkay, K. Gustafson, H. Heyer, P.E.T. Jorgensen, T. Moreno-García, L. Peng, F. Sommen, M.W. Wong, J. Zhao, H. Zhu Nota de contenido: Teodorescu Transform Decomposition of Multivector Fields on Fractal Hypersurfaces -- Metric Dependent Clifford Analysis with Applications to Wavelet Analysis -- A Hierarchical Semi-separable Moore-Penrose Equation Solver -- Methods from Multiscale Theory and Wavelets Applied to Nonlinear Dynamics -- Noncommutative Trigonometry -- Stationary Random Fields over Graphs and Related Structures -- Matrix Representations and Numerical Computations of Wavelet Multipliers -- Clifford Algebra-valued Admissible Wavelets Associated to More than 2-dimensional Euclidean Group with Dilations En línea: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/3-7643-7588-4 Link: https://biblioteca.cunef.edu/gestion/catalogo/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=35026 Wavelets, Multiscale Systems and Hypercomplex Analysis [documento electrónico] / SpringerLink (Online service) ; Daniel Alpay ; Annemarie Luger ; Harald Woracek . - Basel : Birkhäuser Basel, 2006 . - XI, 190 p : online resource. - (Operator Theory: Advances and Applications; 167) .
